The Garrett Ace 400i Metal Detector is one of the brand’s latest series of metal detectors. Garrett Ace 400i Metal Detector Overview
One of the few things that Garrett users complained about in the old ACE series was the lack of a digital target identity. The ACE 350 did not have this feature; on the contrary, segment identification was used. In fact, he says whether the target is a certain type of metal, such as iron, gold, copper, silver. The only real issue with the segment approach is that the metal is very wide in definition.
The scale 0-99 is the same basic principle, but it ensures that your goal is presented in a much more accurate manner.
By saying that the ACE 350 is a quarter in place, the ACE 400 can actually tell if this quarter is silver or façade, a penny is copper or plated – quite smooth. Here, it is the place where the common currency targets will hit the 0-99 scale (which varies according to ground conditions, depth, nearby targets, etc.).
If any iron on the target is detected, this property creates a low, murky tone. Note that you need to use some iron discrimination for this to work.
